I’ve landed in the holy land. What happens now?

One of our hosts will be ready and waiting at Ben-Gurion Airport to welcome you to Israel. Of course, we’ll help with luggage, escort you to our car and get you ready to start the Milestones experience.

This is my first trip to Israel. What do I need to know?

Recommended minimum time to experience Israel
  • Two nights/three days – See the highlights of Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, and the Dead Sea.
  • Six nights/seven days – Experience more then just a taste; spend two nights each in Tel Aviv, the Galilee and Golan Heights and Jerusalem.
Best time of year to travel:

Israel’s unique climate makes it perfect for a visit almost all year round. July and August are the hottest months, while January and February see some rain. Prices vary according to season and are highest in the summer months.

Milestone’s Pick – October & May

Get the Milestone’s experience in Israel’s most mild, comfortable and dry weather!

Baggage

We always recommend traveling light since you’ll be on the go. One suitcase and one personal carry on per person should be enough. Don’t worry; all hotels have laundry service! Please make sure to check your airline baggage restrictions before you fly.

Changing money into Shekels

Israel’s currency is the New Israeli Shekel (NIS). Rather then changing money at the airport, wait till you get to any of the many ‘no fee’ change points throughout Israel’s major cities.

Cell Phones

There are many options, including:

  • Order a cell phone in advance and have it waiting for you upon arrival
  • SIM for your blackberry or IPhone
  • Local US # for your Israeli cell
  • Minute packages –  ‘pay as you go’
Internet

Israel is an Internet friendly country and most cafes have and offer free Internet. Hotel Internet, on the other hand, can be expensive. We suggest renting a USB ‘net stick’, which for $5 a day will provide you with unlimited Internet throughout Israel.

Credit/ATM Cards

Major international credit cards work in Israel including Master Card, Visa and American Express. Be sure to check with your credit card company beforehand for any international fees. It is recommended that you change your ATM pin to 4 digits as many machines in Israel won’t accept larger pins.

Power Adapters

All travelers should carry a universal adapter and converter.

Give us a call at +972-54-256-6877 or email us and we’ll get in touch with you within the next 24 hours.  All you need to do is answer a few questions to get started.

How much does the Milestone’s experience cost?

We’ve structured our tours to suit smaller and larger budgets, depending on the needs and desires of our guests. The cost really comes down to how you want to experience Israel.

How does Milestones design a personal tour?

We are people’s persons and love one on one conversation -so don’t be surprised when we give you a quick call to get acquainted. Once we’ve gotten to know you a little bit, we’ll send you a detailed questionnaire to identify what will make experiencing Israel unique to you. We’ll research your specific needs and requests and then work together with you and other members of your family or group to design an itinerary based on your interests, hobbies, passions and experiences.  All of our tours are designed with flexibility in mind and are professionally executed.

Where did the name Milestones come from?

We chose the name Milestones because we create unique experiences that achieve the personal tour goals of our guests. In addition to hosting guests who have come to Israel to celebrate various Milestones, we aim to create an experience that becomes a milestone for you.

What differentiates Milestones from a regular tour company?

Simple. We give you that personal touch you just can’t get anywhere else. Our tours are all about you, finding your connection to the land of Israel and connecting you with the people. In short, making you feel like your home.

When did Milestones launch?

Milestone’s officially launched in 2009. Our hosts are licensed tour guides, perfecting their craft since 1986.

What is the Milestones experience?

The Milestone’s experience connects you with both the people and land of Israel on a personal level. We create this experience by customizing tours to your specific needs, interests and desires.
